JSON viewer for trees, tables and API responses

A wall of text is a bad way to read nested JSON. JSONWeave shows the same document as code, a tree, an overview or a table, and an inspector tells you what the selected value is.

Views of the same document

  • Code view: a Monaco editor with JSON syntax colors and error markers.
  • Tree view: collapsible nodes with types, with expand all.
  • Overview: a summary of the document structure.
  • Table view: an array of objects shown as rows and columns.

Inspect a value

Select any node to see its type, its JSON path and its length. Strings that look like URLs, emails, ISO dates, Unix timestamps, hex or rgb colors, UUIDs, IP addresses or JWTs get a plain-language preview. Image URLs load only when you click, so opening a document never triggers a request on its own.

Search and query

Search finds keys and values and jumps to the match. The query bar runs JSONPath, a subset of jq, or SQL-style SELECT statements against the open document. It detects which language you typed and lets you copy the results or open them as a new document.

JSONPath
$.users[?(@.active == true)].email
SQL-style
SELECT name, age FROM users WHERE age > 30 ORDER BY age

Load JSON from a file or an API

Open a .json file, drag it onto the page, paste from the clipboard or use Open from URL. Your browser fetches the URL directly, so the server must allow cross-origin requests (CORS). If it does not, copy the response from your terminal or the network tab and paste it instead.

Works on broken JSON

The tree and table are built from a tolerant parse, so you can inspect a truncated or malformed response before you decide to repair it.

Frequently asked questions

Can I inspect an API response?

Yes. Paste the response body, or use Open from URL if the API allows cross-origin requests from a browser.

Can I load JSON from a file?

Yes. Open a .json file from the Open menu or drag it onto the page. The file is read locally and not uploaded.

When does the table view work?

When the document is an array of objects. Other shapes are easier to read in the tree or overview.
